Hi Kathy!  YES!!  We will be there on December 26th - Jan. 2nd.  We really wanted to be there for Christmas too but we figured we had better spend some time in Dallas with my husband's family before we head to Mexico!  They are already telling us that they know if they want to see us they are going to travel to Mexico  for the holidays!  It's been 12 yrs since I spend New Years in Mexico...we are sooo excited!  And, this will be the boys' first trip to our Casa...it'll be a blast making memories and meeting our new 'hood' buddies!!!
So, has anyone said what they want to do for New Years Eve??? Besides body shots heeheee!!!  Reminds me of that song...something about Momma in Tijuana....?  Yes, everything reminds me of as song!

thanks for the compliment on my precious Jade, he turned 4 last Friday and I swear we are still CELEBRATING!!!  Poor child of mine!

Last year on New Years we had a street party on Calle Cuba.  Everyone brought something and we strung balloons and lights across the street.  Lots of languages being spoken... Italian, French,English and Spanish!  I brought light up bracelets for the kids that were a hit.  One of the Mexican neighbors brought a suitcase..evidently there is some tradition if you and a partner run down the road carrying a suitcase you will do lots of traveling in the New Year.  I would love to do something like that again.

And, it sounds very kid friendly!

I doubt I'll be in Mexico for NYE , but if I run down the street with a suitcase here do you think it will still work?? (or will my neighbors just think I'm a lunitic)  Do I have to do it a midnight??

Now that is a funny visual, Clay!   I think I'll try it too!  I'm going to leave a suitcase down there just for that purpose!

Hi Jeri,

I love this idea!! If "borrow" a luggage cart from Cancun do you think I'll get threefold travels to Chemuyil for 2009? Sounds like a good time - I'll bring the Black Eyed Peas ...in 3oz cans of course

I'm doing it twice.  If my neighbors think I'm crazy I may as well confirm it.  I'm doing it at 10 pm so I'll be doing along with y'all, and again at 12 just so it's official.

Can a person take this much excitement???  It's not even the October weekend yet and I'm also looking forward to Christmas at the same time!

Jen, the party on the 27th sounds great - we'll bring something too!  Just let me know what is needed.

Then, a NYE party?!!  Jeri, I remember seeing the pictures Bill posted on the BG Realty site and it looked like so much fun in the community.  Made me really want to buy there!
Missy, we do black-eyed peas every year and I do them from scratch.  I'll show you how - it's super easy!

And Carol, and anyone else who wants to run down the street with their suitcase in the states - just do it!  We'll be thinking of you at that time - we should have a suitcase list so we can toast those neighbors who aren't with us in Chan Chemuyil.

I'm going to run down the street with a suitcase full of black-eyed-peas!  2009 is gonna be a GREAT YEAR!

I am trying so hard to stay off these forums but it's (obviously) not working.  I have an addiction.  I am a chemuyil-aholic.  Help me.

What a great plan Buzz!
I would like to tell you that the addiction gets easier to deal with, but I'm shamelessly not going to deny that fact.

Don't worry there will be many meetings available for Chemuyil-aholics to attend!

At least you're not in denial! Admitting it is the first step!

If you want to blame Chris for starting these forums, you can. I DO! HA!
